Lutron brand Digital Vibration Meter, Model VT-8204, from Taiwan. This is a unique instrument and is a combination of vibration meter and a contact cum non-contact tachometer. It not only measures the acceleration, velocity and displacement parameters of vibration but also measures RPM both as contact and non-contact type tachometers. It has an in-built data logger and has Data Hold and Max/Min record facility. It has an optional RS-232 PC interface facility also. It can be used in all industrial machinery vibration measurement. The level of vibration is a useful guide to machine condition and this is the best instrument for its measurement. The data logger function with flexible sampling time selection, can save maximum 1000 data points into the memory. The acceleration can be measured in the range of 0.5 to 200 m/sec 2, 0.05 to 20.39g and 2 to 656 ft/sec². The velocity can be measured in the range of 0.5 to 199.9m/sec, 0.05 to 19.99 cm/sec and 0.02 to 7.87 in/sec. The displacement (p-p) can be measured in the range of 0.005 to 1.999 mm and 0.002 to 0.078 inch. The frequency range is 10 Hz to 1 kHz. In the tachometer mode this instrument can measure speed in both contact and non-contact mode. In the non-contact mode this instrument can measure speed from 10 to 99,999 RPM and in the contact mode it can measure from 0.5 to 19,999 RPM, and surface speed from 0.05 to 1999.9 m/min and 0.2 to 6560 ft/min. It comes complete with instruction manual, vibration sensor, magnetic base, reflection tape, RPM cone rubber, RPM funnel rubber and carrying case. The optional accessory includes data acquisition software, data logger software, RS-232 cable, USB cable and IR temperature probe.
